Get Ready for 10 Days of Miracles – blog by Jerry and Janet Page

We all love reading about amazing answers to prayer. But what if God is waiting to give you, your family, your church, and your community one of those amazing answered prayer testimonies in January?

Thousands of people have participated in the 10 Days of Prayer program over the past five years, and many have spoken of strengthened faith, physical and spiritual healing, and renewed unity within their congregations. Their testimony could be yours. Listen to what 10 Days of Prayer participants have shared.

“Miracles happened, healings took place, many long-time unanswered prayers were answered,” said Buhire Elie Brown, a missionary to the Guaduloupe islands in the Caribbean Sea. “A lady who was invited by a colleague’s sister was healed of lung cancer and traveled to France for a checkup, and it was confirmed by a doctor over there. I believe no church can afford to miss the next 10 Days of Prayer.”

“Unity was like before the day of Pentecost in the upper room,” said Emmanuel Amey Azameti of Dunkwa Central, Ghana. “Our church members were so inspired with the experience that they repeated the same January program in July.”

Adventist World Radio even appealed for listeners to go to Adventist churches to pray during the 10 Days of Prayer one year. At one church, 85 people were baptized on the final day.

The testimonies go on and on. Nothing is more powerful than a church on its knees!

“On the last night of the 10 Days of Prayer, we decided to do the optional all-night prayer,” said Liz Chacon, from Salinas California. “We were intimidated since none of us had ever done this before. We started at 7 p.m.. We sang songs and prayed.”

She said a strong scent of flowers, perhaps roses, filled the room around 12:30 a.m. The group walked out to the hallway trying to figure out where the smell was coming from, but the scent was not there. It was only present in the room where everyone was praying.

“The scent remained until we ended our prayer session,” she said. “It was an amazing experience and reminded us of the sweet fragrance of Christ’s intercessory prayers that are mingled in heaven with our own. We are continuing to have all-night prayer sessions as a vital part of church life. Thank you for putting this out there for us to partake of.”

Yes, Jesus is standing in the Most Holy Place, and He’s longing to mix the sweet fragrance of His offering with our prayers. He’s longing to pour the Holy Spirit upon us, just as He did for His disciples during Pentecost. The biggest evidence we have of this blessing is when He changes our hearts!

Join the Adventist world church in praying for that blessing during January 6-16, 2016. For more info visit:

Practical Application:

In the upcoming weeks to the 10 Days of Prayer this coming January, we encourage you to gather your friends and fellow church members and make plans to be part of this great time of prayer. Above and beyond that though, we encourage you to prepare your own heart for the blessing God wants to give you.

Let us recognize afresh the sacrifice that Christ has made for us on Calvary! Let us appreciate anew the price that He paid so that we could have eternal life. Remember, we have nothing to commend ourselves to God, but our great need! The Bible tells us, all our righteousness is as filthy rages (Isa. 64:6). But He is just waiting to cover us with His righteousness. He is just waiting to mingle His prayers with our own that they will be acceptable to the Father.

“The religious services, the prayers, the praise, the penitent confession of sin ascend from true believers as incense to the heavenly sanctuary, but passing through the corrupt channels of humanity, they are so defiled that unless purified by blood, they can never be of value with God. They ascend not in spotless purity, and unless the Intercessor, who is at God’s right hand, presents and purifies all by His righteousness, it is not acceptable to God. All incense from earthly tabernacles must be moist with the cleansing drops of the blood of Christ. He holds before the Father the censer of His own merits, in which there is no taint of earthly corruption. He gathers into this censer the prayers, the praise, and the confessions of His people, and with these He puts His own spotless righteousness. Then, perfumed with the merits of Christ’s propitiation, the incense comes up before God wholly and entirely acceptable. Then gracious answers are returned” (1 Selected Messages, p. 344)

Dear Heavenly Father, as we prepare for the coming 10 days of prayer, we ask that You would search our hearts and show us what hindrances are shutting back the outpouring of Your Spirit in our lives. We desperately need You to do a deeper work within us! We have nothing good of ourselves to give, accept surrender, but even that we cannot give apart from Your strength. So we cling to You today! And we are expectant of the coming blessings You will send. In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.
