Five days until 100 Days of Prayer launch!
We are less than one week away from the 100 Days of Prayer launch, and we have an exciting resource that we want to share with all of you.
After the 1901 General Conference Session, Ellen White, author and co-founder of the Seventh-day Adventist church had a vision revealing “What Might Have Been.” She witnessed those in the meetings responding to the Holy Spirit to be reconciled through humility, confession of sins and removal of barriers between each other. This was followed by earnest prayer, songs of praise and the evident presence of the Holy Spirit. All came together accepting the warnings and promises to the Laodicean church. The work of deep spiritual renewal and changed lives so desperately needed was accomplished by God. (See Testimonies, Vol. 8, pp. 104-106.)
However, when she woke from the vision, Mrs. White realized this breakthrough had not happened as God intended. Hardhearted participants prevented the unity God so desired. Deeply disappointed, she understood that the Lord could have come back in the lifetime of those members. But His people could not or would not surrender their thoughts and opinions to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
“What might have been” may not have happened in 1901, but we believe it could happen in 2015! Jesus invites believers to come together, united in His will, praying for His power to break through and usher in His second coming. He has promised that when we ask, we shall receive.
Briefly let us share with you what to expect in the coming days.
- Starting on March 25th, 2015 and going through GC session, you can look forward to a daily post right here containing 10 specific prayers request we are asking members to pray about each day. There will also be a short devotional thought/testimony (written by young adults) to inspire you in your personal walk with God. Each day the prayer list and devotional thought will be new, so for those that would like to receive this daily prayer list and inspiration e-mailed to you, PLEASE REGISTER NOW. (By the way, make sure our e-mails don’t get lost in your spam box or you might miss out.)
- If you have more time to invest in prayer and wish to download all the prayer request at once, we will put a document on our website that you can access.
We have not specified a certain way to cover these daily request. You can choose to pray in your own private prayer closet, in your family circle, or with your church. Some will be holding daily phone conferences to pray over these items each day. Others are planning to meet in their churches or in small groups. While we believe there is even more power when we pray together, the most important thing is that we actually take a few minutes to stop and pray.
We are not providing translation for our materials at this time, but for those that desire the materials to translate, if you e-mail us your request on our contact form, we will send you the upcoming 10 days worth of prayer request and short devotional blogs a few days in advance so you can translate. (In advance of each new 10 day period we will repeat this mailing to you.)
We are excited about what God is going to do and are so happy that you’ve decided to be a part of this movement of prayer.
In 1893, Ellen White wrote, “Just as long as the church is satisfied with small things, it is disqualified to receive the great things of God.” Home Missionary, November 1, 1893 par. 25.
Let’s NOT be satisfied with small things any longer. Let’s dare to ask for more, more of the Holy Spirit, based on the promises of God’s Word!
Forward on our Knees!
